The Million Dollar Plan.
Written by Tevin on November 4, 2007 – 3:07 pm -I’ve been asked several times:
“Tevin, this is great. But what exactly is your plan to become a millionaire in just 4 years?”
This a great GREAT question. And one that I’ve had been thinking a ton about. Yes. Action is terrific. Yes. Getting over my fear of failure is a necessity. But after I have done all of that… Then what?
Just ambition and action on ‘nothing’ or just ‘doing’ doesn’t make me a millionaire. Not even close. I am going to have to revolutionary. I am going to have to set a new standard. I am going to have to have to completely change the way I think about money, and success. Becoming a millionaire in 4 years is no easy task.
Quite the contrary is is going to be quite difficult and challenging. And I’m going to have to greatly improve everything in my life.
So I have been putting a lot of thought it to what it IS that is going to make me a millionaire. And frankly I don’t quite know.
This is when I realized I really need a PLAN. Not just an idea. Not just the notion of being rich. Yes, I believe that is the first step. But certainly not the only one.
And today I had an epiphany in the shower. As I’m applying the conditioner I immediately though “ohhhhh”. And the more I think of it. The less revolutionary it is. And the more obvious it becomes.
Let me backtrack for a second. Yesterday I was on John Chow’s Blog and reading his October Income Report. And he was talking about the huge sums of money he made just from blogging last month. And he included a link to his first month of blogging just over a year ago. Where he made around $250 just from adsense in his first month as a pro blogger.
He started out doing a “case study” to see if making money blogging was an obtainable goal. I think he has succeeded.
But then an idea started to gel in my mind. To become a millionaire. I can’t dabble here and there trying to make money. I must concentrate to maximize making money.
Monetizing my life. Where can I make money in everything that I do?
This is something that will be racing through my mind through all of this. What can I do that I normally do, and then make a profit? What can I do that I enjoy doing that I can make a profit?
And not only that. How do I MAXIMIZE the profit potential? Just putting an ad on my blog is 1 think. But quite honestly I’ve made only just over 5 dollars in a week. Because I just placed them there. And quit. I haven’t figured out how to MAXIMIZE the every thing I do with this blog. Both to increase visitors and regular readers, and their value each time they visit.
It also really gelled even further that I have to “GO FOR IT”. I want to be a copywriter. Yes blogging is great. I love writing. And I hope one day this turns into a profit generating enterprise for me. However, that’s not why I’m doing it.
I blog because I want to share my adventure. I want to document me being POOR. I’m BROKE! I want to read these words 4 years from now to see how far I’ve come. I blog to help motivate and inspire others to do the same.
I would like to make my true money writing copy. I love selling with the written word. I have my “in” as a starting copy writer doing freelance Catalog Copy work. Nothing major. Nothing huge. But it could GREATLY improve what I’m making now (barely over $1000 a month.).
If done correctly I could consistently make as a beginning freelance catalog copywriter between $1500-$2500 a month working a little less than full time. This would be a huge bump in my monthly income! Then I can build from their. My experience coupled with my burning desire to make it will force me to success.
But to get there I am realize I am going to have to make some sacrifices for my long term happiness, and the long term happiness of others around me.
This plan will assuredly gel further over time. It will become more clear and defined. But as of right now, I feel I truly see and realize my destination. Unlike any other day before. Today I feel I have cleared a “brain hurdle” that was limiting my success.
Happy Sunday everyone and lets all have a fantastic week!

Bring on the weekend!
Written by Tevin on November 2, 2007 – 11:21 am -I have so much planned for this weekend! I am going to be taking massive action on a couple of projects. The first of which is an Affiliate venture I’m pretty excited about, based in the Dog Lovers World. It is something I hope to build over the next few months. Culminating in a venue where dog and pet lovers and trainers can hang out and discuss all sorts of things. I’ll update you on Monday with my progress.
I also have this copywriting project I’m working on. That I hope to make a ton of headway on this weekend as well.
Other than that I have a few quick announcements:
I’m now a moderator over at the Did You Smell That dom COM Forums. So if you’re into making money online and discussing ideas and concepts with like minded people head on over and join the action of this start up community. It’s a ton of fun and I think you’ll learn a lot from the folks over there.
Also, you may have notice on the left Sidebar. There is now and option to receive B2M updates in your email box. Don’t worry I will never share or give away your email address to anyone.
Have a great weekend everybody!
