Old Men Really Do Know What’s Best
Written by Tevin on November 27, 2007 – 11:34 am -“Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.”
It’s an oldie but goodie from Ben Franklin.
It’s a simple but elegant reminder to take action today.
More Quotes From Benjamin Franklin
Sometimes I feel so paralyzed by procrastination it’s absurd. Many times there is no excuse for the way that I spend my time. Yes unproductivity seems to be my MO all too often.
Not Today.
This blog is short because I’m taking action. Are you?

Can a beginner affiliate marketer turn his first try into a Million Dollar Success?
Written by Tevin on November 26, 2007 – 1:01 pm -On Saturday I blogged on having a lack of concentration. And feeling “lackluster” or stagnat.
That was Saturday.
THIS IS TODAY. And today I feel GREAT! I feel today is going to be a fantastic and PROFITABLE week.
- This site is growing by leaps and bounds. (Just broke the 200,000 mark on Alexa is just over a month of Blogging.)
- Last night at around 12:30a I register my new domain to launch my new site. (More on that in a second)
- I have some great ideas that should make some good money for the company I word for (and generate some commissions!)
What am I going to be doing?
Registering and starting this website will be my first trust step from moving to Bankruptcy to becoming a millionaire. It is a true exercise in wealth building because it could become a somewhat high paying residual income.
What I’ve done is, I’ve created a page to affiliate marketing a Dog Training and Obedience course. But the neat thing I’ve done is I’ve created a seperate landing page for each of the major dog breeds (so far I have about 18 of the most popular breeds).
I am going to begin marketing the site with adwords and other PPC methods. The great thing is this product will lead to a back end market. I will be able to continue to market additional products to the people in this niche. And I have a few ideas that could turn this business into a $1,000,000+ a year enterprise if this site is successful.
People love their dogs. And they love to take care of their dogs.
I am going to be tweaking and testing this site over the next few days to find out if there is any life to it at all. I will report my progress over time.
*Side note: Finally I am getting to the nature of why I started this blog. Yes it has started off slow. But with some skill, and some luck, and I DOCUMENT exactly how I go from doing nothing. To make real money. In REAL TIME. Thanks everyone*

A post of passion. And a FIRM commitment.
Written by Tevin on November 20, 2007 – 10:00 am -I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to find my passion. If there is one rule that I know is that you must LOVE what you do to become ultra successful at it.
I want to become a millionaire. And I only have 43 more months to do it. I think I need to find my passion.
First of all I know I love talking about money. I just find the subject of it fascinating. How people make it. How people lose it. I love hearing of peoples great success stories. I love thinking “entrepreneur”. Take an idea… any idea. How can you make money with it? I’ve been thinking that way since I was 7.
I can burp (loudly) on command. Can I make money doing that?
But even though I liked to “think” this way. I was a thinker. A talker. Not a doer. I never stopped talking about it long enough to just DO IT!
So then I second guess myself. Do I have “it”. I sit on my duff a lot, and do a whole lot of nuthin’ FAR too often! Because if my passion is just thinking business. I’m flat SCREWED, because I’ll be flat BROKE.
But finally; it’s starting to *click*. I think I am about to harness “it”. To focus “it” into a whirlwind of action and success. I can feel “it” brushing the tips of my fingers just ahead of me, and if I can just grab ‘hold and pull it close. I feel an explosion of success is inevitable.
I’m realizing. I absolutely, positively love to write. I thoroughly enjoy putting my thoughts and my words in black and white. I am also realizing how to monetize those words. Maybe this blog. Maybe a product. Maybe copy. But through practice and ambition. I believe that I will be able to find how to use my words to mine the cash into my pocket.
I have at least 3 business ideas in my head RIGHT NOW. I feel inspired. I feel action oriented. I feel RICH.
I am going to write these things down on paper RIGHT NOW. And develop a plan of action to get each one done in succession. And I am going to COMPLETE the project, and pull the trigger (quite unlike what I have done in the past. Where I started and gave up before I ever even gave some ideas a shot…).
I am going to COMMIT to a very modest goal. I am going to make it public, and I am going to do everything in my power to achieve it.
I commit to earing just $250 in profit in the Dog Care niche by the end of January.
Yes. I have had this *GREAT* idea for about 2 months. I have put a ton of it together, I just haven’t taken the final step and went live. Then begin to tweak and change to make it profitable. I am going to take this idea–that I absolutely POSITIVELY know will be a success–and full commit to it. I am going to turn a profit from it, because I know exactly what and how it is to be done. I just have to take the step necessary for doing it.
Now lets get to it! Lets start taking some action!

Day Dreaming… The Key To Success?
Written by Tevin on November 6, 2007 – 5:54 pm -I’ve found that one thing I do very VERY well is Day Dreaming.
Hell! I probably do it more than anything else!
But in all seriousness. I think that too many people get caught up in “life”. They don’t allow themselves the time to daydream. To remember what they would want… what they would be like in their Utopian World. They don’t allow themselves to see where they are going. Where their future lays. Where it COULD lay. If only they take action.
Then what happens? Most likely you get depressed (unless your life just rocks as it is now, and you’re living your dreams… And I’m not talking to you Mr. Niceshoes.) and forget where it was that you WANTED TO BE! Don’t let that fire of desire burn out. You always have to have that as a driving force behind you. Otherwise you’re just going to settle for “what is”. Now some people like to call these type of people “realists”.
Give me a break.
If you can’t sit around an imagine what your perfect life would be. Then how will you know when you ever get there?
Now I’m not just saying you should sit around your house all day, and hope that you become rich and famous with a super model wife (… or husband for you women out there…) and then expect to open your eyes and it exists. I like to call those people delusional!
BUT! Once you realize: Wow, I want accomplish “this” and “this”. And I want to give to charity. And I would love to be an author. And have a home with a pool. And share it with the girl of my dreams. And be well know, and people aspire to be like me. And I want to help others be successful….
Then you know what to shoot for.
You have to let yourself go sometimes. Nothing can inspire you more than the fact that you know if you try hard enough and attempt enough, you can achieve your dreams.
I truly, TRULY believe this. And is the driving force behind me everyday.
So do yourself a favor. Give yourself a few moments to daydream everyday. Stop being a “realist” and start dreaming! You might be surprised with your results!

Pulling The Trigger
Written by Tevin on October 31, 2007 – 11:36 am -I find myself at times having trouble “pulling the trigger”. I’ll so often get 90% of the way there. But that last 10% can seem so arduous. So time consuming. So difficult. That I’ll get stuck. Stalled. Or worse: Give up!
YUCK!
I hate it when I do this…
I just need to pull the trigger! I have an adwords campaign that’s 90% completed. All I basically have to do is upload the page, and pull the trigger. But I keep stalling. I keep putting it off. I keep “forgetting” to get around to it. I put the campaign together about 3 days before I launched this blog. And it sits there for close to two weeks untouched. 90% of the work done.
I haven’t implemented something on this blog like I wish I had by now (opt-in reminders, specifically) .
It isn’t for lack of knowledge. Lack of time. Or anything like that. I think it comes down to one simple reason.
Fear of Failure.
Because if I don’t pull the trigger. I can’t fail.
YIKES! Lets stop this today!
From now on, I’m going to pull the trigger. I can’t be paralyzed by the fear of failure. To become a success I must, overcome this fear. Because logically I realize that if I take ACTION and I FAIL… SO WHAT!?
Not only am I no worse off than I was before I failed. I’m one step closer to finding success. And that by definition is a success to me. I have then succeeded in finding out what doesn’t work!
Are you paralyzed by the fear of failure? Are you scared to take the plunge? Just decide. Today! You’re going to stop putting it off. And TAKE ACTION NOW.

And I Always Thought A Dog Was a Man’s Best Friend…
Written by Tevin on October 29, 2007 – 5:15 pm -Turns out Dogs are a great friend.
But “To Do Lists” seem to be my best friend. Not only do I get more accomplished. I get it done quicker and better when I have it written down as a constant reminder to myself.
When you have your own writing staring you in the face to do something. You get it done just to scratch it off the list.
Today my list consisted of getting “small” things done I’ve been putting off for not only weeks, but an ENTIRE YEAR. I made up some comb bound books for my cold calling session I’ve been putting off, that I’ll go on tomorrow at 10 AM Sharp. But I made a few calls and finally took my car in to be inspected for some damage I’d done to it OVER A YEAR AGO. The good news is, I did something I told myself I should do. The bad news is, the damage is WAY worse than I thought it would be… *sigh*
So I urge you. This week:
Begin Making To-Do lists. And follow through. Make sure you have it on you at all times. So you can write things down as you think of them. Then you have no more excuses for forgetting–and therefor not taking action.
Start your To-Do list with something you’ve been putting off for a long time(days, weeks, or in my case over a year!) and do it. No matter how small.
Once you begin to Take Action you begin to build moment. And eventually the inertia keeps you achieving things just out of habit.
Tomorrow should be a fun day! I’m going to be taking my new Mogul Smartphone on the road!

I’ll be supply video throughout the day updating on my cold calls! Should be fun!

A Day of Beginnings
Written by Tevin on October 29, 2007 – 11:52 am -Today is the beginning of not only the work week. But of Massive Change. And Massive Action.
I’m going to keep this post short. But I urge everyone who reads this to make this week, the week of getting stuff done. If you’ve been putting something off. Do it. NOW. Stop waiting until the perfect moment. At some point you’re going have to “pull the trigger”. Or as it’s been put to me:
When you’re driving down a long stretch of urban road, and there are many lights in your path. You go through each light individually. If it’s red you stop. If it’s green. You keep going. You don’t stop at the first red light, and wait for every light on the road to turn green before you go!
You would be waiting forever, and you would never get anywhere! So just go! Sure you’ll come along some red lights. But eventually you’ll get to where you’re going…
I have a ton of stuff on my Action List this week. So I’m going to leave you here. And I’ll talk to you tomorrow!

A Confession of F*** Ups!
Written by Tevin on October 25, 2007 – 6:15 pm -Building self discipline is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
Skating by. Do as little as possible to get the job done. Cutting corners. Easily Distracted.
These used to describe me perfectly. The still do alot of the time. But I have a great ambition to break these. And MUST break them and soon. I must FORCE myself to do the things I do not want to do to become successful. Breaking these habits and character traits is tough, but not impossible.
I feel improvement everyday. I’m getting to sleep earlier, giving myself more energy in the day time to be productive, and less time wasted at night on late night useless TV. I’m improving the amount of work I’m getting done everyday. And I’m keeping this blog up to date (not everyday quite yet, but still often).
I still find myself mindlessly surfing at times on information on blogging. And then with the magic of the internet and Wikipedia, I’m all of a sudden studying the chemistry behind converting switch grass to a viable source of fuel for the world. When really, I should be getting productive profit making work accomplished.
This week I broke a couple promises I made to myself. I did not read for the full hour everyday, I instead watched an extra episode of Prison Break season 2 Box Set.
And I did not even make it out for a full day of cold calling for the advertising agency.
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME. I MUST SET NEW STANDARDS.
In an effort to bring about change in myself I’ve taken a few extra steps. The first thing, I’ve arranged to have a meeting every Saturday evening with my boss, and owner of Creative Image Advertising (conveniently also my father) to discuss exactly what is expected of me to accomplish in the coming week. We will discuss exactly which days I will be calling. Who I will be calling. And other projects I should begin and finish work on.
This will help me gain a little more traction at work, and keep me on task a little better.
I’ve also MAPPED OUT MY ENTIRE WEEK. My time management skills they… well they SUCK. At times I’m so easily distracted I may get lost for several hours in something completely pointless. So I spent about an hour today developing exactly how and where I am going to spend my time.
I then printed out a work book and the put a comb binding on it. My worksheet looks similar to:

Tuesday 10-7 Work: Major Accomplishments Planned
7-8 Blogging 8:30-10:30 Personal Relaxation Time 10:30-11:30 Education Book Read:________________________________ 11:30-1 Video Games/Web 2.0 Internet Study (alternating by day) 1-1:30 Daily Show 1:30 Sleep Notes For Today:
|
Then at the begging of each day I look at the list of goals I’ve set for the week, and pick the (up to) three most important to accomplish Today. Those will be my Major Accomplishments.
Then a bit of relaxation with TV Time, or personal time. Whether that’s going to the bar, or sitting on my ass watching TV, that’s my zone at veg time.
I’ll follow that up with my B2M Book Club reading (Still on Think and Grow Rich). Then I’ll pop in Halo 3 or Brush up on some web surfing studying and see what’s going on in the blogosphere. Finally, my daily dose of the Daily Show, then off to bed.
This helps me realize where my time is not only spent. But wasted. Once I put this together, I realized where my time is being wasted when I could be enjoying being productive instead of lazy.
The Big Lesson
Nobody is ever perfect. And I don’t expect to stick to this 100%, 100% of the time. But it will help me realize where my time SHOULD be being spent.
And not only that. I realize where my weakness is, and I’m making a valiant attempt to reconcile it, and adapt to it to find a system that WORKS FOR ME. No two peoples minds work exactly the same. So find the holes in your productivity, and figure out the best way to plug them with a system that works for you. Don’t just ignore them. Or worse accept them.

The successful people force themselves to do the things the unsuccessful people DO NOT do.
Written by Tevin on October 23, 2007 – 3:25 am -This coming Wednesday is a day I’ve set aside to make COLD CALLS for the advertising company I work for.
In spirit of massive action:
So in addition to just “going out” and calling on businesses. I commit to gaining at least 1 new project on that day. If I do not get at least 3 project lead, I will continue to go out full time everyday until I achieve this.
One of my biggest downfalls in my ability to achieve massive financial success has been my willingness to give up if it gets hard. Or not giving 110% every time.
NOT ANYMORE!
I will be busting my ass every moment to gain as much business as humanly possible. This will not only help build integrity and momentum. It will also help financially with commissions.
I’m going to leave you with a quote from my #1 Sales Mentor:
“Obstacles can’t stop you. Problems can’t stop you. Most of all, other people can’t stop you. Only you can stop you.”

Without Passion. What’s the point?
Written by Tevin on October 19, 2007 – 6:41 pm -As I try to build this blog there are several things I’m realizing:
I know NOTHING about blogging.
I know NOTHING on how to build a blog audience.
Being interesting, informative AND entertaining all at the same time, isn’t always as easy as it sounds.
But there are many other positive things I am noticing:
I have a passion for not only learning and trying to build this project, but also finding the key to helping inspire and motivate others who are in a similar situation as me. People who have fantastic POTENTIAL, but are having trouble tapping that potential because they are procrastinators, “putter-offers“. Or the people that can TASTE success. They just can’t quite figure it out, and are getting discouraged.
I commit with this blog to not only, CHANGE MYSELF, but give you the tools and secrets to bring about the change and desire to succeed in you as well.
Your first step to bring ULTIMATE SUCCESS. Join the B2M Bookclub. Membership is simple, just commit to reading at least 1 hour per day. What you read is not as important so much is THAT you read, and what you read will directly help you move forward and bring about success.
I have started with reading Think and Grow Rich you can download your own copy from that link and begin reading it too. If you have not read it at least a Dozen times. I suggest you read it along with me.
Monday I will begin discussion on it, and the impact it’s had on me and my outlook on success.
