Affiliate Adventurer Noob - Day 2!
Written by Tevin on November 29, 2007 – 10:49 pm -Alrighty!
Results after last night were certainly promising and disappointing at the same time!
I got 19 pages launched last night (roughly 1/3 of the total landing pages I will create if these are successful. So there is more volume).
I tested for about 2 hours on adwords. And received 26 clicks at a 2.5% CTR!!! This is the best adwords campaign I’ve ever put together.
However, after 26 clicks and $10 later, I noticed I did not have a single email opt in.
Now I realize to your average affiliate (not to mention super affiliates) this is not enough to justify a valid test. 26 is hardly any, however as this is not a Pay Per Opt-in campaign. It’s a pay per sale campaign. I need regular opt-ins to justify doing it.
So I looked at my pages and realized several places where I went wrong. So I’ve spent a few more hours revamping. The landing pages I feel are 100 fold better than they were, and I feel will convert more opt-ins.
I just launched the adwords campaign tonight. I’m going to run it for a few more hours. Hopefully if the 2.5% CTR sticks, I will get at least a couple opt-ins tonight.
I’ll report my exact stats for todays test tomorrow!

Hey, great site …. one question, which you may not be able to answer totally, how did you get those high paying clicks? i am over a y ear old, with most of my growth occuring since May of this year, but still most days……….. its sad. Do you have problems with finding traffic?
wish you all the best with this venture, and I will return again.
By the way, saw your blog in your name at John Chow Dot Com, i always look to see who is up to what there when i am posting.
I would love to answer your question in depth and in detail, but I don’t quite understand.
But I think I know where the confusion might be. This is a post regarding an affiliate promotion I’m running for an entirely different site. I’m driving traffic to the site by paying for it through search terms on Google Adwords.
As for this site, my traffic comes through multiple sources. I find stumble upon to be a good source of high volume, untargeted traffic.
But networking the other blogs is a great way I am beginning to build traffic. Notice how you found my blog from JC’s? I am networking about 5 blogs on a daily basis right now to become a valued member of the community.
I hope this helps, and if you need any other clarification let me know.
