My brain just took a dump on this blog.

Written by Tevin on November 19, 2007 – 1:59 pm -

Well it’s Monday! And it’s going to be an incredible week. And I’ve been thinking about tons of things to write about… most of which I will get to this week. But I wanted to do a brain dump today. I’ve had so many thing rushing around inside my head.

Here are todays Random Thoughts:

I’m reading a ton more on the internet. I spend most of my time with my laptop on my lap during all my free moments “trolling” the blog-o-sphere. I’m reading tons of neat thoughts and ideas.

My favorite blog this week is by far Nate Whitehill’s. I love his blog for a number of reasons:

  1. He’s successful
  2. He’s my generation. I forget that there are achievers in my age group. I’ve known so many “talkers” and so few doers. It reminds me I need to keep surrounding myself with successful people. (Which reminds me I need to set up that meeting with Spliced Media, guys if you read this, I’ll be in touch.)
  3. His writing and his thoughts are fantastic. And reminded me that I need to concentrate on providing value, and NOT trying to monetize right away. Which explains why I took down all the ads. Those can wait.

My blog is slowing gaining some momentum. But I’ve learned when I don’t post everyday, I lose a TON of that momentum. I missed two days last week, and I my visitors dropped from apx. 100 unique visitors a day, to about only 25 a day. YIKES! Time to remember not to miss a day! However, I’m slowing gaining fans on Technorati and other social networking sites (if you like what you see. Please let me know! And add me to your friends list on any social networking sites). I even have 4 feed subscribers!!!

My (albeit) meaningless Alexa Rank is just below the 1mil mark. Up from the 2mil mark it was before. By the end of my first three months blogging I hope to be in the top 100,000.

As mentioned before, I’ve taken down all the ads, and am more concentrating on building a readership. It is not worth trying to monetize for the 6 cents a day I was making! After 3 months I’ll consider placing ads, or maybe trying some affiliate deal. ONLY after I’ve gained the faith and trust of my readers.

I am slowly trying to make this blog “my own”. I’ve added my own header “logo”. I don’t LOVE this theme. I’d like to find a design I really like (and/or hire someone to design one to my needs). I’ve never used a WP blog before, so changing and updating things is a slow process for me. But I’m figuring it out.

I need to more clearly define what I’m blogging on. I need to do a ton more thinking of my “purpose”. I’m thinking I’m going to define it with “Personal Development, Entrepreneur Thinking, and Personal Success”. These are where my passions are, and I think that’s what I’ll try to stick to. So my readers know what to expect.

I need to be more honest and upfront with my readers. I was just reading, that presenting your flaws, make you that much more credible. I know this deep down. But sometimes I have problems admitting my “flaws” on a daily basis. I am going to concentrate on being more open and honest on a daily basis.

That’s about it for today! I have some fun stuff to talk about tomorrow! So I’ll see you then.

I’ve realized that it’s not about making “money”.

Written by Tevin on November 12, 2007 – 1:15 pm -

You know, I’ve heard it (probably) hundreds of times before:

“You can’t just want to ‘get rich’. You have to love what you do. You have to want to provide value to others. You must have a passion, or you’re never going to find long term ultra-success.”

I’m heard this over and over (and over and over). And I fundamentally “heard” it. I heard the words they were using. But I wasn’t listening. I wasn’t comprehending the true message. Because I always wanted the quick score. I thought “loving” the money would be enough. Hell, I have a passion for being rich! That’s all I need.

HA!

This is so false! And the reason I have tried and failed so miserably so many times before. I was just trying to make as much “cash” as possible. I wasn’t worried about what I was providing to others. Hell I didn’t care what it was that I was trying to sell. If I thought I could make money with it. That was good enough for me!

It’s not enough! After a ton of soul search, thinking to myself (you do a lot of that when you’re poor and have no money to spend on anything.) I’ve realized where I’ve gone wrong. I spent a large portion of my life thus far trying to “strike it rich” for all the wrong reasons. Don’t get me wrong… I still wish to be successful.

But it’s occurring to me more and more how much financial success is completely irrelevant if you don’t absolutely love your life. If you don’t love, and believe in every ounce of what you do. Then what’s the point?

I believe in this blog. I love every ounce of it. It means so much to me, and the progress I’m making in my life. Sure, it doesn’t make any money, and it probably won’t be the new hit of the web. BUT, I believe several things about this blog to be true.

I believe in the long run, I will be able to refer back to these writings and view my progress. I believe that my words will also help to inspire others who are in a similar situation as myself. I believe that I can create a system to help aide in the success of others. By “cracking the code” myself. By doing it first and documenting it in real time, I will have accomplished something on the internet, that I believe no other person has yet to do… Become RICH in every sense of the word. Not just financially, but emotionally and personally as well.

Thank you so much for letting me share my journey.

Persistance Pays Off!… Well hopefully

Written by Tevin on November 8, 2007 – 7:24 pm -

I’ve been poundin’ the pavement. Kickin’ the dirt. Hittin’ the streets. And a number of other euphemisms for cold calling lately.

Basically I’ve been walking into businesses unannounced and trying to get their business! Yea… IT’S TOUGH!!! And I pretty much HATE doing it.

For 2.5 days this week (and ever other day I’ve gone out prior) I’ve been catching nothing but AIR. Nodda. Zilch. I was wiffing at every corner. But I kept at it. 5 Hours each day, getting told “No!” “Get out!” “No thank you” “We’re taken care of…” “That’s not something we’re interested in…” “No I’m sorry he’s not available.” And pretty much any other blow off you could possibly think off.

But at last! After practicing my rebuttals, rehersing, getting over my FEAR OF FAILURE. I’ve finally gotten passed the first wall.

Today, I walk into Red Robin for the second time in as many days. Ask to speak with the manager, and a few words and a card trick later… I’ve finally got an audition which I’m sure to NAIL to becoming the regular performing magician at that Red Robin restaurant.

It’s a small step. Yes. But it is a STEP! I thought I just wasn’t cut out for this. I was beginning to think “maybe I CAN’T sell”… ugh. I hate failure!!!! That’s NOT me anymore. And BAM when I least expect it. I get my chance.

This is a great opportunity at a supplemental income, and will open up doors to other Red Robin’s in the area when I land the job! This is tremendous step for me in helping me pay down my debt, and come closer to becoming a MILLIONAIRE in 48 months.

So as my thanks to Red Robin.

EAT THERE!

Have a great Friday everyone!!! And remember, don’t just GIVE UP. Keep at it until you find success, or success finds you. You’ll be happy you did. I certainly am!

The successful people force themselves to do the things the unsuccessful people DO NOT do.

Written by Tevin on October 23, 2007 – 3:25 am -

This coming Wednesday is a day I’ve set aside to make COLD CALLS for the advertising company I work for.

In spirit of massive action:

So in addition to just “going out” and calling on businesses. I commit to gaining at least 1 new project on that day. If I do not get at least 3 project lead, I will continue to go out full time everyday until I achieve this.

One of my biggest downfalls in my ability to achieve massive financial success has been my willingness to give up if it gets hard. Or not giving 110% every time.

NOT ANYMORE!

I will be busting my ass every moment to gain as much business as humanly possible. This will not only help build integrity and momentum. It will also help financially with commissions.

I’m going to leave you with a quote from my #1 Sales Mentor:

“Obstacles can’t stop you. Problems can’t stop you. Most of all, other people can’t stop you. Only you can stop you.”

Without Passion. What’s the point?

Written by Tevin on October 19, 2007 – 6:41 pm -

As I try to build this blog there are several things I’m realizing:

I know NOTHING about blogging.
I know NOTHING on how to build a blog audience.
Being interesting, informative AND entertaining all at the same time, isn’t always as easy as it sounds.

But there are many other positive things I am noticing:

I have a passion for not only learning and trying to build this project, but also finding the key to helping inspire and motivate others who are in a similar situation as me. People who have fantastic POTENTIAL, but are having trouble tapping that potential because they are procrastinators, “putter-offers“. Or the people that can TASTE success. They just can’t quite figure it out, and are getting discouraged.

I commit with this blog to not only, CHANGE MYSELF, but give you the tools and secrets to bring about the change and desire to succeed in you as well.

Your first step to bring ULTIMATE SUCCESS. Join the B2M Bookclub. Membership is simple, just commit to reading at least 1 hour per day. What you read is not as important so much is THAT you read, and what you read will directly help you move forward and bring about success.

I have started with reading Think and Grow Rich you can download your own copy from that link and begin reading it too. If you have not read it at least a Dozen times. I suggest you read it along with me.

Monday I will begin discussion on it, and the impact it’s had on me and my outlook on success.
